We are thrilled to annouce that Clara Haworth (Captain of IDA team 2020-2021) will be attending Ross University starting in May 2021. Taking over the team will be Captain Steeley Ellis and co-captain Dara Riddick. We thank Clara for everything she has done and wish her well on her journey to becoming a veterinarian!
Guelph’s dressage team is accepting video tryout applications for the 2020-2021 show season! We have openings available in ALL divisions. In your tryout video, please try to include: halt, walk, trot, and canter transitions, 10 and 20 metre circles, leg yielding, changing rein, and if possible, riding different horses.
For the past four years the Intercollegiate Dressage Association has been ridding to the 2015 USEF dressage tests but the US Equestrian Committee have recently introduced 2019 USEF tests. Effective Dec. 1, 2018 through Nov. 30th, 2022 we are excited to compete to this new test! The continual update to USEF Dressage Tests is to serve as a measure of the horse an rider's schooling and training ability while each level builds upon the preceding level's principles.
The new tests can be found here and we are looking forward to 2019! We are now accepting tryout videos to join the IDA team of 2018/2019! We encourage you to email any videos of flat work of yourself riding multiple horses (if possible) to our email. Videos should include movements such as:

Please remember it's most important for the video to showcase your current riding level and adaptability to multiple horses. Show us anything that might show you apart from the others! Tryouts will be held in the form of submitted videos. Videos should contain riders riding multiple horses if possible and performing the following movements (up to current skill level): - Walk. trot (rising and sitting), canter - 20m and 15m circles in trot and canter - Leg-yeild left and right - Transitions between gaits - Direction changes - Lengthen stride in trot and canter - Free walk All videos MUST be accomanited by a rider classification form and lesson form (found on our website) Remember that ALL former team members must re-tryout. Video due date is yet to be determined but will be early to mid September.
