About UsThe University of Guelph Intercollegiate Dressage Association Equestrian Team is a student-run, self-funded team of dressage enthusiasts. The team is made up of University of Guelph students from many different equestrian backgrounds. Riders are required to take weekly lessons as well as participate in other training events in order to participate in competitions.
The IDA is a great opportunity for riders at Guelph with an interest in dressage to learn more about the sport through educational opportunities and competition. Riders that participate in this organization range in experience from walk/trot and no competition experience to beyond First Level with extensive riding, training, and competition experience. The IDA organization allows riders the opportunity to progress up the levels through their time at school, meet new people from many other schools, and participate in team events. |
There are many positions within the team to get involved for those who have a passion for dressage, but may not want to ride or compete including positions like fundraising coordinator, secretary, or support crew. Students with all levels of riding experience and backgrounds are encouraged to try out for the team!
